Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
Recess Creative is the agency of record for Cleveland Hopkins: the largest airport in the region and in the state of Ohio. CLE is an airport on the rise, with new flights (and airlines) being added all the time. If you’re going places in Northeast Ohio, you’re traveling through CLE.
In early 2014, United Airlines pulled their hub status from the airport. Since then, the airport has won a ton of new air service from new and existing airlines. We found ourselves in need of a campaign that effectively spread the word about the new flights, lower prices and all the great things taking off from CLE.
What if we created a messaging platform that allows us to create content for a bunch of different media, inspire the public to think “CLE first” and instill confidence in the airline industry as a whole?
Everything takes off from here.
It’s a truly integrated campaign that pulls together TV, print, interactive, social, PR and in-airport messaging to highlight new non-stop service. Each of the animated 15-second TV spots focuses on a specific new flight. And, they’re all also built to run as pre-roll, rich media advertising, in-airport display and social content. We’ve efficiently carried over the illustrative style of the spots to the digital display and print campaigns. And, a smart and nimble media plan lets us hit competitive markets with flight-specific messaging geared towards that audiences needs.
