Summary

 Today, one in four Cleveland children test positive for lead poisoning before Kindergarten, with lead-based paint and dust in structures constructed before 1978 representing the most common form of lead exposure. Recess Creative worked alongside the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition (LSCC) to develop a comprehensive awareness campaign to educate Clevelanders on the dangers of lead, along with the resources and funding available to owner-occupied and rental property owners for remediation and clearance.

Familiar Voices

Members of Cleveland families and others most at-risk for lead exposure represented the "Faces of Lead," with several residents acting as storytellers to build awareness around lead safety along with support available to both tenants and property owners.

Organic Social

Through social media, the Coalition is spreading the word about the dangers of lead poisoning and how to prevent it. We’re sharing tips, resources, and funding options to help parents, caregivers, and property owners make homes lead-safe. Along with that we are sharing various training sessions and events about how people in the community can get more involved. Together, we’re turning awareness into action and creating a healthier future for Cleveland’s kids.
